Y-axis
The upright axis from top to bottom on a graph. Often used to display magnitude.

Y Chromosome
The chromosome for producing a male. Males have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome.

Yerkes-Dodson Law
An upside down U also know as the Inverted-U hypothesis. The state of arousal is displayed on the x-axis and the performance score is shown on the y-axis. An optimal level of arousal is demonstrated at the top of the inverted U. Too little arousal means poor performance. Too much arousal also means poor performance.
