Ultrasound
Mechanical radiant energy that can be used to create images of the human body and also allows estimation of body
fat. Ultrasound is also used to treat soft tissue
injuries.
Underwater
Weighing
By weighing a subject on land and underwater, the body
density can be determined using Archimedes Principle. The
underwater weight is corrected for residual volume
(lungs), gastrointestinal gas. Then percentage body fat
is calculated using linear regression equations, such as
from Siri or Brozek.
Unstable
Equilibrium
An object that when displaced will not return to it
previous state.
