Overload Principle
The concept that a muscle gets stronger when it is stressed more than usual. Increased resistance, increased repetitions, or decreased rest between sets are three ways to cause overload on a muscle.

Overtraining
Training excessively to a condition that muscles or tendons are damaged from overuse, illness or malaise increases, or athletic performance declines.
